What does the chamber of commerce do for me?
This is a question often asked by businesses and individuals when joining chambers. Both local chambers work diligently to promote local commerce and tourism and attending trade shows and conferences is just one of the ways they work for you. Kernville Chamber board member Steve Nelson represented the Kernville Chamber recently at such an event, International Pow Wow, and he shared his experience.

Scott and Deena Siddle with Sierra Sun Intervention Care will host a two-day workshop for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Wednesday and Thursday, June 13 and 14 at the First Baptist Church, 3701 Suhre Street in Lake Isabella. If you frequent the shores of Isabella Lake to walk and play with your dogs please take extra precaution. Two cases have been reported of Salmon Poisoning disease. Dogs eating dead fish along the shore line could become ill if the fish is infected and if the dog is not treated death usually occurs within 14 days. Symptoms are vomiting, lack of appetite, fever, diarrhea, weakness, swollen lymph nodes and dehydration. Signs will appear will generally appear within six days. Canids (dogs) are the only species susceptible to salmon poisoning. Salmon and other fish that swim upstream to breed can be infected.
