The doctors told us that if she survived she would probably have irreversible brain damage, but by the grace of God, through many prayers she pulled through and ended up being an honor student and had the opportunity to attend the Air Force Academy with a Presidential citation of academic excellence. She not only excelled in school but was very helpful and loving to others, especially those who were not as gifted or blessed. As the wife of a Marine in active service, she learned how to move and set up new households with great frequency. She first was employed with Bank of America and then as a civilian at the Naval Weapons Center in China Lake. There she served as the Dispersing Officer responsible for the entire base payroll.
