Shawna M. RohrerDec. 30, 1978 - July 31, 2010

Shawna M. Rohrer was born in Orange, Calif., in 1978 to Bobbie and David Acuna. Shawna was in many ways a miracle child. When only three years old she almost died of meningitis and encephalitis. The doctors told us that if she survived she would probably have irreversible brain damage, but by the grace of God, through many prayers she pulled through and ended up being an honor student and had the opportunity to attend the Air Force Academy with a Presidential citation of academic excellence. She not only excelled in school but was very helpful and loving to others, especially those who were not as gifted or blessed.

Virginia Arline Flynn passed away on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010. Her 84 years began in Massachusetts, where she lived until shortly after marrying Thomas Joseph Flynn on Oct. 1, 1949. In the years following World War II, they lived briefly in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and then it was off to sunny California. As the wife of a Marine in active service, she learned how to move and set up new households with great frequency. Along the way, she and Tom grew their family to include three children; Kathleen, Dennis and Denise. When the children went to school, she returned to work. She first was employed with Bank of America and then as a civilian at the Naval Weapons Center in China Lake. There she served as the Dispersing Officer responsible for the entire base payroll.
