Storytime at library Thursday
There will be a fun story time program at the Kern River Valley Library on Thursday, Sept 14, at 3:30. Families with children in preschool through 3rd grades will especially enjoy these monthly programs. Kids who bring their library cards or whose parents register one for them will receive a prize in honor of National Library Month.
McCarthy mobile office here Thursday
Assemblyman Kevin McCarthy's district office staff will hold office hours to assist constituents living in Lake Isabella and surrounding areas on Thursday, Sept. 14. Kern Valley Pride Day Saturday
Young and old alike will gather on Sept. 16 at 8 a.m. to begin the clean up of their designated areas. By noon everyone gathers together at the French Gulch Group Campground area for disposing and counting of their trash bags. CERT classes Saturday and Sept. 30
CERT will help you become prepared for any emergency or disaster. Our basic mission is to train motivated residents in the Kern River Valley area to be personally prepared for a disaster by completing the basic Community Emergency Response (CERT) course.
The next CERT training sessions will be held on Sept. 16 and 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Classes will be held at the First Baptist Church in Lake Isabella at 3701 Suhre St. You must attend all three sessions to receive your completion certificate. The very small cost is $20 to defray the expense of printed materials.

Seniors Summer Health Faire Monday
The Kern Valley Healthcare District is partnering with Kernville Union School District's Family Resource Center, Kern River Valley Collaborative, and the Department of Health Services, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, to sponsor Kern Valley's 7th annual Seniors Summer Health and Information Faire. The faire will be held Monday, September 18 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lake Isabella Senior Center. Ponderosa Poker Run Sept. 23
