Apple dessert contest announced by organizers of annual Valley Fest

The organizers of the Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce's annual Valley Fest have announced an apple fest recipe contest to take place during the festivities. The contest is for amateurs only and excludes professional chefs for anyone working as a chef or cook. In order to enter the following rules and regulations must be followed.

€Only one entry per person.

€All dessert entries must be able to hold at room temperature for four hours on the day of the contest.

€The Registration deadline is 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2006.

€Entry of your apple dessert in the contest is your admission to the Valley Fest.

€Each participant must submit a freshly prepared apple dessert ina non-returnable pan. Minium of 9” pan must be used.

€All apple desserts must be accompanied by an ingredients list annd all recipes must contain apples.

€Each entry will be recorded and a number will be assigned to the contestant with the same number placed on the bottom of the pan.

€Judging begins promplty at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 14, 2006.

€Check in time for all apple dessert entries is 10:30 a.m. at the Valley Fest.

€Desserts will be judged according to appearance, taste and creativity.

€Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place immediately following judging.

€Winner does not need to be present to win.

€All entries become the property of the Valley Fest.

€The remainder of the apple recipes will be on display and the Valley Fest reserves the right to sell remaining pieces for charity.
