What would Easter be without the valley’s annual Easter egg hunts? On Thursday, March 20, the residents of Kern Village Assisted Living facility in Kernville hosted their annual event, with approximately 35 children all under the age of seven.

"This is the 8th year we have held the hunt,' said Kern Village owner Cheryl Parmalee. 'We have thrown out 650 eggs, 24 of which are prize eggs. We have a prize for who collects the most eggs, and a prize for who collects the least amount of eggs."

2 year old Ezekiel Leipnik was more interested in playing with the lawn than hunting for hidden Easter eggs at the annual Kissack Cove Sunday.

This year, the ’Äòmost gathered’ prize winner found a total of 69 eggs. ’ÄòLeast gathered’ was one.

"The residents love it, they are really who we do this egg hunt for," Parmalee said. "Thanks to the staff of Kern Village and the Burlington, they put all of this together. I appreciate them lots."

Easter Sunday found of valley children at the 41st annual Easter eagg hunt at Kissack Ranch for the annual hunt for eggs. Organizers said there were more than 100 dozen eggs hidden.
