The South Fork Woman's Club clubhouse played host to the Kern District California Federation of Women's Clubs 52nd annual convention on April 18. The hostess club was the Kern River Valley Woman's Club; this was the first time in 14 years that the event was held in the Kern River Valley. Sixty-nine members from North of the River, Wasco, Bakersfield, Kern River Valley, South Fork, and Lamont attended the annual convention.

The Kern District California Federation of Women's Clubs installed their new district officers while in South Fork's friendly confines. South Fork Women's Club members Andrea Babb and Nina Wiseman were elected to serve as district officers though 2010. Babb was installed as President, while Wiseman will serve as 2nd Vice President. Other elected district officers from around the county were installed at the luncheon as well.

The club placed 2nd in the following events: Conservation, Fund raising, Leadership, Education, Public Affairs, and Helping Hands.

Of the 12 clubs in the Kern District California Federation of Women's Clubs, sevenclubs made the drive to the Kern River Valley. Hodel's Country Dining catered the event.
