The Exchange Club of Kern Valley has selected our valley's Pink Ladies (and Blue Men) of the Kern Valley Auxiliary to receive the club’s annual Book of Golden Deeds award, which is given to people who perform exceptional community service.

The Exchange Club will throw a gala dinner for the Pink Ladies (& Blue Men) at Paradise Cove on Monday, May 5 with a social at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7. Cost is $25 per person. If you would like to attend, call Marsha at the Kern Valley Sun, 379-3667 ext. 15, for reservations.

The Book of Golden Deeds is an award that has been given out for the past 87 years by the Exchange Club and is designed to recognize the good deeds of heroes and heroines of everyday life, and to document their accomplishments as an inspiration to future generations. The Pink Ladies (& Blue Men) join a select list of Kern Valley people that the local chapter of the Exchange Club has given the Book of Golden Deeds to over the past 30 years.
