Linda Wild, a teacher’s aid who works with disabled students at Wallace Elementary, helps Wallace Elementary student Maverick Begin pet the horses at Kern Valley High School’s Ag Farm during the Future Farmers of America (FFA) annual, nationwide Food for America event last Thursday. Elementary students from around the valley visited the high school ag farm and had the opportunity to learn more about agriculture and interesting facts about livestock in an up close and personal experience. Kern Valley High’ÄąSchool FFA student guides led groups of students to different stations around the farm, where students listened to presentations about livestock and agriculture. Students toted bags of soveniers such as wool, coloring pages, a small bag of carrots, raisins, and a small flower or vegetable that the students planted themselves.
