Our Constitution

Pauline Braswell displays her most recent DAR awards for her poetry.

A document of vision

With a noble heart they pondered,

the words for a nation... new

words to protect all citizens,

not words for a chosen few.

We pray for the wisdom to understand

the words they did impart,

of freedom, liberty, and justice;

the courage of their stalwart heart.

We stand in awe of their vision,

to see changes in future years,

that has let us be guided, directed

in greatness, and moments of tears.

As we honor our constitution

those visions and dreams come true,

bequeathed to us in bright colors,

our flag of red, white, and blue.
