The Blasters were crowned the co-ed softball league champions by virtue of the tie breaker.

The Blasters and the Misfits ended the regular season in a tie with records of 12-3, but the Blasters got the better of the Misfits in head to head games this year.

A player for the Load Stars squad keeps her on on the ball as she prepares to take a swing in a recent co-ed softball game. The co-ed league ended its regular season with the Blasters grabbing the title over the Misfits using the tiebreaker.

The Blasters defeated the Misfits all three times they would square off.

The Blasters will now have the top seed in the league playoff styler tournament.

The Misfits will have the second seed and both teams will receive a bye in the first round.

The Vipers finished in third place coming in with a 9-6 mark, while the Scrappers grabbed fourth place with a record of 7-8.

The Load Stars moved up a notch from last year as they climbed into fifth place with a record of 3-12.

The squad of Nuts and Honey held up the rest of the league as they finished with a mark of 2-13 on the season.

With the regular season over, the playoff style tournament started on Tuesday (results were not available at press time) with the fifth seed Load Stars took on the fourth seed Scrappers.

In game two the sixth seed Nuts & Honey squad squared off versus the third seed Vipers.

The first seeded Blasters will play the lowest seeded winner of round one, while the second seeded Misfits will take on the highest seeded winner of the first round.

The winners will advance to the championship game on Saturday at 7 p.m., while the losing teams in round two will play for the consolation title on Saturday at 5 p.m.

In the game of the week it was a low-scoring affair as neither team mustered any offense.

The Misfits took care of the Load Stars 6-1 in the tightest battle of the week.

The Misfits took the early lead as the scored half their total in the top of the first inning.

Two straight walks put runners on second and third. One out later a single scored two runs for a quick 2-0 margin.

They were beneficiaries of two more base on balls to allow another run to cross the plate and give them the 3-0 lead.

The game stayed at 3-0 until the top of the fourth when the Misfits added a run.

An error and two base hits pushed the run home and made the score 4-0.

The MIsfits would add one more run in the sixth and finish with another run in the seventh.

The Load Stars scored their lone run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

A one-out walk put a runner at second and two singles later the Load Stars were on the board. A double play ended the scoring threat and the game and gave the Misfits the 6-1 victory.

The Misfits were led by Tino Villegas with a pair of hits and an RBI. Chrysta Pera and Eric Barton each had one hit and an RBI, while Brandon Phillips, Joe Miller and Adam Johnstone each had one hit in the game for the Misfits.

The Load Stars were led on offense by Mark Bayless with one hit and the lone RBI for the squad.

Kristen Finstad, Ben Kauffman and Dave Finley each had one hit.
