Kern Valley High School student Jordan Lawson looks to add another accomplishment to his already impressive list. Lawson, who is an incoming Junior, has been selected to the Baseball Factory National Team competing in the Dogertown World Series in Vero Beach, Florida. “As you can imagine I am very excited to have made this prestigious team of outstanding baseball players,” said Lawson.

The Dodgertown World Series is a event that takes place at the former Spring Training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 14 – 18. “We will be competing against the best local players and teams in the country and will be coached by professional baseball players and scouts,” said Lawson. Players train with professional scouts, former professional players and former college coaches.

Lawson is seeking sponsors to help him make his way to Vero Beach, Florida to compete in the Dodgertown World Series.

While in Vero Beach, Lawson will receive personalized instruction from well-known coaches. He will participate in training with professional instructors, working on all aspects of his game. “This camp is all baseball, all the time,” according to Baseball Factory's website. Teams play in tournament play to crown the Dodgertown World Series Champions, all while on professional facilities. Players will, “experience life as a pro as [they] play on the same fields and eat and sleep in the same facilities as the Los Angeles Dodgers,” according to Baseball Factory.

Like everything in this day and age, the cost of the event is anything but free. Lawson is seeking sponsors in order to participate in the event. Support of any type would be appreciated, as Lawson's financial obligation is “a little over $5,000.00.” The costs cover expenses such as travel, local transportation, hotel, food, training, coaching, uniform, registration, insurance and miscellaneous costs.

Lawson, who was named to the HDL's All League First Team as an infielder this past season, has high aspirations for his baseball career. “My goals are to play baseball in college and maybe someday professionally,” said Lawson. “I've trained for years with the hopes and dreams of playing the best. This great experience will help me reach my highest potential and receive national recognition to help me play college baseball and beyond. It was be a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

“I am very proud to be a part of Baseball Factory. They are helping me further my baseball career. Look them up at the web at www.baseballfactory.com and see how they help baseball players across the nation. If interested in helping Lawson participate in Dodgertown World Series contact him at 760-417-9516. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
