Eight candidates have filed papers indicating their intention to run for open seats on the boards of the Kern Valley Healthcare District, Kernville Union School District, and South Fork Union School District, according to the Kern County Elections Division. Their names will appear on the ballot as part of the general election on Nov. 4.
John Blythe, Barbara Casa, Bob Jamison, and Bob Knight will be running for three seats on the Kern Valley Healthcare District. All candidates, with the exception of Blythe, are incumbents. The Kernville Union School Disrtrict board has three seats up for grabs. Incumbents Ross Elliott, Tom Moore and Wendy Russ, will run unopposed if no one files paperwork with the county by Friday, Aug. 8. The South Fork Unsion School District board also has two incumbents, Dale Creighton and Sherry Nichols, running unopposed.
