The Kern River Valley Community Emergency Response Team (KRV CERT) will be holding training every Saturday in September. Beginning Sept. 6 through Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 3701 Shure St in Lake Isabella.
Sept. 5: CERT Re-certification Class. For all CERT members who want or need to re-certify. All CERT members are required to re-certify once every three years. This is a one day re-certify class. There is no cost for this class, please bring your cert manuals with you.

Sept.13: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
CERT for all new volunteers..basic training classes. Module One: Disaster Preparedness, Module Two: Fire and Hazardous Materials Safety, Module Five: Light Search and Rescue Operations and Module Six: CERT Organization.
Sept. 20: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Module Three: Disaster Medical Operations Part One, Module Four: Disaster Medical Operations Part Two, Module Seven: Disaster Psychology and Module Eight: Terrorism.
Sept. 27: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.mm
Hands On Training: Splinting, bandaging, Back boarding, Cribbing, Fire Extinguisher Training, Course Review and Final Exam.
If you want to prepare yourself or family for any type of disaster; or if you are the type of person who always volunteers to help others during disasters, this is the class to take.
The Basic CERT training classes are free, the cert manual is $20.00 per book for reprinting.
