Van fire sets mobile home ablaze

Kern County firefighters were called out to the Reeder Tract Saturday evening shortly after 5:00 p.m. when a call was received of a structure fire in the 1800 block of Thompson Drive in Lake Isabella. Upon the Kern County Fire Department’s arrival at the scene, they found a van fully involved under a car port. The fire had already spread to the singlewide mobile home attached to the car port. The fire crews quickly deployed their hoses and had the fire under control within 15 minutes. Ten Kern County Firefighters responded to the incident. There were no reports of injuries and the crews saved the home with very little damage.

Total property saved was valued at $50,000 dollars, Loss including the van was valued at $23,000 dollars. The van was believed to be the cause of the fire.

Kern County firefighters' quick response to a fire in Reeder Track, Lake Isabella, saved the residents an estimated $50,000 in property. Loss, including the van, was valued at $23,000.
