Special public meeting to discuss proposed area code changes Sept.25

Supervisor McQuiston's Office

Supervisor McQuiston will be hosting two public hearings for the purpose of obtaining community feedback regarding the proposed changes in the existing 760 area code boundaries.

The meetings will be held at the following locations:

Kern River Valley Senior Center, 6409 Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 6:00 p.m.

In Ridgecrest the meeting will be held at Ridgecrest City Hall, 100 West California Ave., Ridgecrest on Monday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m.

The Board of Supervisors agenda item #14 scheduled for tomorrow (Sept. 23) will be continued until Tuesday, September 30. The Supervisor would like to have more public input before presenting the item to the entire Board of Supervisors.

A big "THANK YOU" to the Sweet Adelines for stepping aside and allowing us use of the Senior Center for this important meeting.
