REPORT OF COLLISION: On 10-4-08 at approximately 11:00 a.m. Richard Rooney, 69, of Kernville, was stopped in his vehicle in the westbound lane of Hwy. 155, waiting to make a left turn into Juniper Highlands, on Oakwood Dr., Wofford Heights, when Lara Burns, 22, of Bodfish, approached Rooney from the rear at a high rate of speed. Burns was unable to stop her 1990 Honda Accord and collided into the rear of Rooney’s 2008 Chevy HHR, pushing it into the eastbound lane of Hwy. 155 into the path of Michael Gray, 39, of Simi Valley, Calif. Gray attempted to swerve right but was unable to avoid colliding into the front of Rooney. Burns was transported to Kern Medical Center with head trauma and pain to her right knee. Rooney was transported to Kern Valley Hospital for a large abrasion to his right knee. No arrests were made.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 9-23-08, Christopher Brown, 65, of Tehachapi, Calif. was traveling westbound on Walker Basin Rd. just east of Johns Rd. on his 2005 H-D motorcycle at an undetermined speed. For an unknown reason Brown applied the rear brake causing the rear tire t o wash out from underneath him. The motorcycle overturned ejecting Brown onto the asphalt roadway. Brown was transported to Kern Medical Center with major injuries.

SUSPICION OF DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE: On 9-28-08, Arthur Patrick Rener, 42, of Wofford Heights, was stopped for not wearing a seat belt. The subsequent investigation led to his arrest for driving with a suspended license, having false registration tabs, a no bail Kern County warrant and two Santa Clarita traffic warrants.

Richard Rooney of Kernville is transported to a nearby ambulance after his 2008 Chevy HHR was rear-ended by a 1990 Honda Accord driven by Lara Burns of Bodfish. Rooney was in the westbound lane of Hwy. 155 waiting to make a left turn into Juniper Highlands on Oakwood Drive in Wofford Heights when the accident occurred Saturday morning.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 9-23-08, John Harrington, 80, of Bodfish was driving his 2005 Honda Rebel motorcycle southbound on Lake Isabella Blvd., at a stated speed of 35 to 40 mph and an unidentified white car was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Fussel St. As Harrington approached the intersection, the white car failed to yield the right of way and and pulled directly in the path of Harrington. Harrington attempted to stop his motorcycle and avoid the collision at which time he lost control and fell to the ground. Harrington was fully ejected from the motorcycle during which time he sustained moderate to major injuries.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 9-28-08, Erdman T. Brown, 66, of Bakersfield was riding his motorcycle south on Mtn. 50 north of Loyd Meadow Rd. when he ran over some sand in the roadway. While on the sand he lost control and fell to the ground. Brown was transported to UMC in Fresno with major injuries.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 9-27-08, Bernard P. Colin, 57, of Wofford Heights was riding his 2001 Kawaski motorcycle south on Sierra Way and collided with a deer. Colin was transported to Kern Medical Center with major injuries.

Sheriff’s Department:

SUSPICION OF OBSTRUCTION: On 9-26-08, Lisa Lennet Torrez, 38, of Southlake was arrested in the 8000 block of Red Bud, Southlake on suspicion of obstruction and having a warrant for her arrest.

WARRANT ARREST: On 9-27-08, Robert Dean McMahan, 46, of Lake Isabella was arrested in the 2400 block of Ronita Lane, Lake Isabella on a warrant charging him with violation of a court order.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 9-27-08, Matthew Paul Verley, 28, of Grand Terrace, Calif., was arrested in the 400 block of Evans Rd., Wofford Heights on suspicion of public intoxication.

SUSPICION OF BURGLARY: On 9-28-08, Patrick Christopher Booth, 19, of Kernville was arrested in the 2600 block of Scovern St., Lake Isabella on suspicion of burglary, vandalism, battery and false imprisionment.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSING STOLEN PROPERTY: On 9-28-08, David Jason Mitchell, 18, of Southlake was arrested in the 2600 block of Scovern St., Lake Isabella on suspicion of possessing stolen property.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 9-28-08, Jeremy Smart, 20, of Wofford Heights was arrested in the 10 block of Sycamore Dr., Wofford Heights on suspicion of public intoxication.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 9-28-08, Allyson Marie Kelley, 26, of Bakersfield was arrested in the 2700 block of Lupine St., Lake Isabella on suspicion of public intoxication.

SUSPICION OF DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE: On 9-28-08, Hunter Todd, 19, of Lake Isabella was arrested in the 6200 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 9-29-08, Norman Walden, 30, of Lake Isabella was arrested in the 4100 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella on suspicion of public intoxication.

SUSPICION OF EVADING: On 9-30-08, Juan Ramos Salas, 30, of Arvin, Calif., was arrested in the 35000 block of Hwy. 178, Onyx on suspicion of evading, possession of a stolen vehicle, child endangerment, and theft of an auto.

SUSPICION OF BEING POSSESSION OF A LOADED FIREARM IN A VEHICLE: On 10-2-08, Donald Lee Cudahy, 60, of Bodfish was arrested at the Boulder Gulch Campground on suspicion of being in possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle and driving on a suspended license.
