The jayvee volleyball team played two away games last week.

On Sept. 16 they played and beat Desert Christian.  During the second game the entire Kern Valley team had their turn on the court. Coach Adam Vittoria mentioned that in the first game it was a rather easy win, the score was 25-10 and game two was pretty much the same as the first game.

Coach Vittoria reported some highlights with Katy Emery, Jaime Duran, Breanna Register and Sydney Scott putting on a serving clinic for Desert Christian.  Deborah Riley, Sierra Ure, and Register were the leading Lady Broncs in kills for their team.

“It was a great win for the whole team,” Vittoira said.

Tuesday stats are combined, Emery had eight aces, one dig, Duran had seven aces, one kill, Scott had four aces, and one kill. Kayla Evans with two kills, Ure with three kills, Register with two aces, two kills, one assist, Riley with four kills, Abbey Stanton with two kills and one assist, Jessie Looy one ace, four assist, Morgan Eirich with one ace, two assist, and Allyson Borthick one kill and three assist.

The following day the Lady Broncs played another match in Ridgecrest against Burroughs. Vittoira mentioned the first game was won by Burroughs, and that the Lady Broncs played decent but they were a little off their first match.  The final score was 25-21.

During game two the Lady Broncs took an early lead and they buckled down to take the game with the final score of 25-20 and then in the third game Burroughs took the win, final score was 15-6.

Vittoria said, “Burroughs served six straight points on us, and then with the moral down Kern Valley would struggle and let Burroughs take the game.”

Coach Vittoria said they will chalk this one up on the learning curve and make the needed adjustments for their next game. Highlights for the Wednesday match were Duran, and Eirich both being the leading servers for the Lady Broncs.

Combined stats are Duran 12 serves, one ace, four kills, two digs, Eirich nine serves, two aces, and a whopping 29 assist. Scott had four serves, Ure had seven kills, five serves, four digs, and Register had nine serves, one ace, six kills, ten digs, and one assist.

Emery with seven kills, eight digs, Stephanie Lopez had one assist, Deborah Riley three kills, two serves, one ace, and Evans had four digs, six kills, two serves, one ace.
