As members of the Hospital Foundation Board met around a conference table last Monday morning in the Kern Valley Hospital Administrative office, Jesse Martinez and Kandy Card of REVA sat nearby waiting anxiously. The Board was there to open bids from the community to purchase the KVHC Mobile Unit. Martinez had been hoping that REVA's bid would be the winner, making his dream of having a suitable vehicle for a mobile spay/neuter clinic a reality.
Fortunately for Martinez and Card, the Board didn't keep them waiting long. REVA's bid was chosen and after some final details are ironed out, they will be in possession of the 1986, 34 foot Chevrolet Barth Coach which had been originally converted to be used as a mobile mammogram unit.

The good news about the coach will certainly lift the spirits of REVA supporters as they hold two fundraisers this weekend. The first event will be a Pet Walk-a-thon, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 at 9:00 a.m. in Lake Isabella outside the Furniture Store. The second fundraiser will be an All-U-Can-Eat international Pancake breakfast held at the Senior Center on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
