Pallbearers, left to right, Bob Mince, Tom Evans, Louie Andreas (behind KV floral spray) and Jimmy Andreas prepare for the final goodbye to their friend and co-worker Denny Knight, who died suddenly Oct. 19 from an apparent heart attack. Denny Knight’s casket was escorted on a horse-drawn caisson to its final resting place in the Old Kern River Valley Cemetery on Saturday afternoon. Sierra Mortuary reported it had been more than 40 years since a funeral procession of this type had been permitted in the valley.
