Kern Valley stung by Lady Scorpions 10-8

In a tightly played match, the Lady Broncs came up on the short end of the 10-8 score against Desert.

Kern Valley scored four team points in doubles and matched that with four team points in singles play.

Brianna Jones of the Lady Broncs tennis team returns a shot in the home match versus Desert on Oct. 23. Kern Valley lost the match 10-8.

Kern Valley’s doubles team of Kayla Nevius and Christina Brown continued their winning ways as they collected three team points by sweeping their Desert opponents 6-1, 6-2 and 6-1. With the three set wins, they moved to 14-1 in High Desert League competition.

Sara Fraser and Ashley Hampton picked up the other doubles team points with a 6-2 win. They would fall 1-6 and 3-6 in their two other sets.

Winning in singles were Bethany Stanton who won two sets 6-3 and 6-1 and Brianna Jones who won 6-3 and 6-2.

Head coach Brian Christianson said, “We are playing better, but we just lose our focus at times. We really want to thank everyone who came out and supported us. Our home crowd is one of the most knowledgeable in the league.”
