Lady Broncs rack up two more match wins

The Kern Valley jayvee girls volleyball team played at home and won both games on Oct. 28 against the Desert Lady Scorpions.

The first game ended with the score of 25-17, and the second game went pretty much as the first one, with Kern Valley coming out on top 25-16.

Coach Adam Vittoria said, “The girls were on top of their game, winning in two straight games.”

Breanna Register and Jaime Duran had the hot hand for the game with Register serving six straight with three aces and Duran served five straight, including three aces.

According to Vittoria, “Jessie Looy and Stephanie Lopez both had excellent games, and Sierra Ure is developing her spikes quite nicely and is Kern Valley’s jayvee leader for kills for this season.”

Stats are a combination of both games. Register served a total of 11 times with four aces. She also had one dig. Ure had seven kills, served three times, while Evans had one kill, Looy served six times, had one ace, three kills, while Morgan Eirich served five times, had one kill and two digs. Katy Emery had one kill, while Abbey Stanton served twice, Lopez served four times, had two aces, had one kill and one dig.

Duran served ten times, had three aces, two kills, and assisted 22 times.

Two days prior the jayvee girls played away at Mojave against the Lady Mustangs winning both games 25-16 and 25-21.

Vittoria commented, “The girls played well at Mojave, even though it did not count for league, it was a good victory.”

Stats for both games are as follows; Allyson Borthick with one kill, Emery one kill and one dig, Stanton served twice.

Duran served six times, with three aces, and had 20 assists, while Deborah Riley had one kill. Eirich served seven times, had three aces, and ten assists, while Looy served four times, had two aces and one kill.

Evans served eight times and had three aces and two kills, while Ure had five kills.

Register served three times, had one ace, two kills, one assist, and recorded two digs.
