But NASCAR's 12 car Race for the Chase playoff system has an unfixable flaw in how they score a race, that helped soften the blow of Edwards' win for the points leader Johnson. Edwards still needs to continue his winning streak while Johnson has to have an awful finish in one of two remaining races. Carl has been telling anyone who would listen--and most haven't--that Jimmie dosen't have the Cup in his hands yet. Since Jimmie's win in Martinsville, many of the non-believers said the Chase was over and done with. Edwards begged to differ."All I need to do is win one of the last four races." After leading 199 laps of the first 264 and a risky move on Edwards' crew chief, Bob Osborne, to take on four tires where other competitors only had used a 2 tire strategy in order to get ahead of Carl. He also ran 69 laps without making a pitstop for fuel. He then raced back into 2nd,( Osbourne's 4 tire change turned out to be the winning move) and took the lead when Greg Biffle pitted with only 13 laps remaining. He beat runner-up Jeff Gordon by more than 8 seconds and had enough gas left to do a couple of victory doughnuts. After turning in his 8th win for the season team co-owner Jack Roush,of Roush-Fenway Racing, belives his driver has the momentum to win the Chase. As well as a few non-believers.
Now that the NASCAR season is coming to an end, we will be announcing the winner of our Dale Jarrett trivia contest. Thanks to all the fans who had fun playing!
