NASCAR might have Jimmie Johnson, but the Kern Valley has their own version of the three-peat.

The Kern Valley junior varsity Broncs (10-0) completed an undefeated season by beating the Frazier Mountain Falcons on Nov. 13 at home to win their third consecutive High Desert League title.

Kern Valley’s Cody Bulgarelli of the jayvee team picks up a block and avoids a Frazier Mountain tackler in the game played on Nov. 13.

The Broncs defense recorded its fifth shut out of the year as they blanked Frazier Mountain 20-0 to wrap up the league title.

The Falcons had 12 possessions in the game, but the Broncs defense stuffed them every time.

They forced the Falcons to punt six times, turn the ball over on downs once and recorded five takeaways.

Kern Valley recovered three fumbles and had two interceptions. They allowed Frazier Mountain a total of 64 yards in the game. Fifty-one came on the ground and 13 passing.

Despite the dominant play of the Broncs the offense went stagnant. They had a total of 257 yards in the contest with 218 coming on the ground and 39 passing.

The Broncs got on the board in the first quarter as Dakota Claude’ romped in from 11 yards out. Dylen Atkinson kicked the extra-point and Kern Valley had all the points they would need. The game stayed at 7-0 through the half and at the end of the third quarter.

The Broncs found the end zone twice in the fourth to wrap up the game and the league championship.

Aaron LaFarga raced in from 12 yards away for the Broncs second touchdown of the game. Travis Gibson ended the scoring as he had a pick six. He intercepted the Falcons quarterback and returned it 37 yards for the final score and the easy 20-0 victory.

Claude’ was the leading rusher as he gained 91 yards on 19 carries.

Cody Bulgarelli picked up 61 yards on 10 rushes, while LaFarga had 48 yards on nine touches of the ball.

Austin Kennedy carried twice for 17 yards and Aaron Bundy had two rushes for five yards. Robbbie Fisher had three carries for a minus four yards. He passed for 39 yards going 3-of-6.

Mike Donnolly had one catch for 15 yards, while Anthony Hernandez hauled in one pass for 15 yards. Bulgarelli caught the final pass for nine yards.
