California Highway Patrol:

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 1-1-09, Judy Kay Bettger, 47, of Bodfish was observed driving her vehicle eastbound on Bodfish Canyon Road and drifted over the double yellow lines as she proceeded through a curve on the roadway. An enforcement stop was made and the subsequent investigation led to the subjects arrest for driving under the influence.

Sheriff’s Department:

SUSPICION OF BEING IN POSSESSION OF AN ILLEGAL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: On 12-27-08, James Charles Johnson, 37, of Lake Isabella was arrested in the 4000 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Bodfish on suspicion of being in possession of an illegal controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 12-27-08, David Likes, 28, of Lake Isabella was arrested in the 2800 block of Scovern Street, Lake Isabella on suspicion of public intoxication.

WARRANT ARREST: On 12-28-08, Jack Ryan Witten, 26, of Lake Isabella was arrested in the 500 block of Hwy. 155, Lake Isabella on warrants charging him with transportation of illegal controlled substance and possession of illegal controlled substance.

SUSPICION OF TAMPERING AND DISCONNECTING A TELEPHONE LINE: On 12-29-08, Damien Eugene Swafford, 21, of Bodfish was arrested in the 300 block of Rim Road, Bodfish on suspicion of tampering and disconnecting a telephone line.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 12-29-08, Robert William McKim, 37, of Lake Isabella was arrested in the 6200 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella on suspicion of public intoxication.

WARRANT ARREST: On 1-2-09, Ronald Leslie Twardoks, 72, of Onyx was arrested in the 5600 block of Lake Isabella on warrants charging him with failure to register as a sex offender and giving false information to a peace officer.
