Mountain Mamas to host Charity Shoot

The Mountain Mamas will host a Charity Fun Shoot on April 18 at the Kernville Shooting Range. Sign-ups start at 8:30 a.m. Shoot begins at 9:00 a.m. This event will benefit the Women’s and Girls’ Fund of Kern County.

Shoot Stats – 50 targets: (5 stations/5pairs), cost $30, cash or check payable to “Kern Community Foundation.” Participants are required to wear eye/hearing protection and bring 60 rounds of ammunition, size 7 1/2’s or 8’s. Presentations: true pairs or report pairs. Guns welcome: SxS, Pump, O/U or Semi-automatic shotgun.

Remember this is a fun shoot! Trophies for those that like competition, but for the rest of us the day will be fun! Side bets with your friends and family will be encouraged. Categories include, High Overall, Pro Class, Juniors (under 18), Ladies, Cowboy, DAL (last place).

Bring your own lawn chair. Hot dogs and etc. will be available for donation. Directions to range: Town of Kernville, off Sierra Hwy, between the Dump Rd. and Camp 9. Range is on Cyrus Canyon Rd. For more information call 760-376-4170.

This event helps the Mountain Mamas in their support of The Women’s and Girls Fund of Kern County, which is a ‘field of interest’ fund of the Kern Community Foundation.

The Women’s and Girls’ Fund is multipurpose: to make known the needs of women and girls in Kern County; to build an endowment from which grants will be issued to address those needs; and to encourage Kern women and girls to think and act as philanthropists.
