Elect those who support working class

Published on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 10:19 PM PDT

Our representative to the National Congressional House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, voted against taxing the bonuses of AIG personnel. Thus he has no problem paying 165 million tax payer dollars to the very AIG executives that crafted the financial collapse.

He also voted to deprive 9 million American children health care-twice! (CHIP the Children’s Health Insurance Plan.)

It’s time the local Republican party focused on putting up candidates that display some American values instead of depriving our children of health care and bankrupting the average working person with taxes to pay million dollar bonuses to multi-millionaires who crashed our financial system.

Ret. Marine Corps Commandant and present National Security Advisor to the President, General Jones, recently listed poverty and lack of education as equal threats to our Democracy along with terrorism.

Let’s forget we are registered with whatever party. Let’s vote Representative McCarthy out next time and get somebody who is not in Big Oil’s pocket and against those of us Americans who work for a living.

" So Obama is putting the money back into his own country while Bush spent $3 trillion on a war we didn't need to be in and put the economy where it is today. It's not the liberals who need to wake up. "

" The country is already dying under the pressure of the $1,500,000,000,000 ($1.5 Trillion) dollar deficit that Obama CHOOSES to incur in order to finance his liberal, Marxist agenda. And this HUGE DEFICIT will persist, since he CHOOSES to make those entitlement programs PERMANENT.

At 5% interest, a $1.5T deficit (only 1 year's deficit) will cost $1,200 PER HOUSHOLD in the USA FOREVER, just to pay off the interest on ONE YEAR'S deficit. Obama has DESTROYED this COUNTRY already. "

" Everyone needs to stop pointing fingers at everyone else's mistakes and start pointing a finger at themselves. Stop and learn how the government really works. It is not just the commander in chief, it's the house and senate who are messing things up too. The more we let the government do for us, the more they will do to us. Personally, I don't want the government running my life, but if we let them impose too many taxes and have all these programs 'supporting' us, then that is exactly what they'll do. Wake up people! "

" It seems to me that the Democratic Party represents the NON-WORKING people by pandering to them and other groups like illegals to get their votes.
The WORKING people are the ones that have to pay for all the entitlements givin to the non workers.
In the non worker class you can also include 95% of the all the government employees. "

I said that by giving them our vote, they represent us and therefore are our "employees" and they should do what the constituents want, not what their political agenda is. I'm not THAT liberal, Republican. Just think they should do for the people and not the party. "

" For Bob Walker and Valley-ite:
Would you have the "collective globalization unit" govern so that you could feel like you have some control? Is that what you are proposing instead of electing honorable and trusted representatives to the higher offices and voting as the people they are "in touch with" say they feel about issues...well I just say, if we "change" voting for people because we want to "hire them to work for us" then we are definitely walking towards socialism! "

" When McCarthy has a Republican president, he votes for AIG bonuses, and when he has a Democratic President he votes against them.
Rather than a personal GOTHCA BACK, let's both look at the real point, we need a honest Representative who listens to and votes for WE THE PEOPLE, not his party--whatever that party is.
What do WE (you and I) gain from a knee jerk voting Representative from either party? "

" .Well Mac I see you have been drinking Rush's Koolaid, likely laced with Oxycontin. But regarding your comment above, you obviously dont read history or you would know that in a contracting economy money must be injected to create demand especially when there is too much supply. Tax cuts ( the only Repub plan ever) do not create demand and when combined with spending cuts result in Depression. So your neoconservative agenda has been exsposed "

" Bob, you’re absolutely right. People need to look at what our local politicians are doing and vote their conscience. To often that they just vote the party, this is a lazy mans excuse…no homework required. No real look at the opposition. (Just tune into Fox news).
Times are a changing though..The information age is here and those who take advantage (and this number is growing as the younger generation replaces the old and dying red necks) and use it are going to make the difference. Thank God we have seen the transition begin "
