Public Agency Reports 06/03/09

California Highway Patrol:

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 5/31/09, Richard J. Fenner, Jr., of Lake Isabella, was driving on a dirt road near Isabella Lake boat launch #19, when he ran off the road and became stuck in the soft dirt. Contact was made and the subsequent investigation led to Fenner’s arrest for DUI.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 5/26/09, Elizabeth Mary Hart, 66, of Wofford Heights, was observed driving southbound on Burlando Rd., north of Nellie Dent Rd. at 66 mph in a 50 mph zone. Contact was made and the subsequent investigation led to Hart’s arrest for DUI.

This 2008 Jeep Wrangler was consumed by fire in the Kern Canyon in the afternoon of May 28. No injuries were reported by CHP, but traffic was blocked and the canyon was closed for about 90 minutes.

Sheriff’s Department: No reports were made available at presstime.

    " I STILL am dying to know what happened with that Jeep in the canyon. I was heading up the canyon to see my sister graduate and wasn't sure I would make it with the long wait.

    I have no idea how something like that could happen, so, naturally, I'm a little curious. "
