McQuiston Town Hall meeting June 17

Supervisor Jon McQuiston will host a second Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Odd Fellows Hall in Kernville. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:00 P.M. The meeting will be presented in three segments.

The Office of Emergency Services will be on hand to answer questions about Disaster Preparedness.

Kern County Roads Department will be updating the community on the Transportation Enhancement Act (TEA) Grant proposal that is being prepared for submittal for walkable communities.

The Department of Parks and Recreation and the Board of Trade will also be present to discuss Circle Park and community improvements to the area. The public is encouraged to attend. For more information, please call 760-549-2068.

    " If you don't like it...why didn't you speak up when it was in the planning stages and not after the fact? Read the proposals before it's too late...they're available to the public! All you people who complain after the fact think you're 'involved'? If you want your opinion heard, voice it sooner! "

    " Somebody needs to tell him that the conversion of Isabella Blvd to 2 lane is STUPID. We need the 4 lanes back. Who was the single digit IQed planner that made the deicison to put in a turn lane and 2 bike lanes anyway????? "
