Moore wins Cadet Freestyle

Evan Moore paddles to a kayaking freestyle medal.

Moore, 13, of Kernville placed first at the 61st Annual FIBARK Kayak Races held recently on the Arkansas River in Salida Colorado.

Evan Moore (middle) won the Cadet Class Freestyle for 14 and under in Salida, Colo. On his right is Alec Voorhee of Boise, Idaho who took second place, while on his left is Paul Palmer of Glenwood Springs, Colo. who finished third.

Moore is the son of Tom and Kittie Moore and will be an eighth grader at Wallace Middle School in September.

Up next for Moore will be attending the Keener Kayak School in Ottawa Canada for the month of July.

He will compete in the U.S. and Canada Junior Olympics in freestyle kayaking.
