The Blasters out slug Wrecking Crew 25-21

Plenty of action in the co-ed game of the week as the Blasters and the Wrecking Crew combined to score 46 runs, collect 42 hits, including 11 for extra bases.

The two teams battled back and forth in the time shortened five-inning game.

Clayton Sprouse of the Blasters extends to try and catch a pop up in a recent Co-ed softball game. Teammate, Christina Murphy watches the action. The game was played at Linda Kissack Ballfield.

The Blasters opened the game by scoring seven times in the first inning. They would send 13 batters to the plate. In their half of the first, the Wrecking Crew got back three runs to make it 7-3.

The Blasters scored three more times in the second, four in the third and five in the fourth, while the Wrecking Crew scored three in the third and pushed seven runs across the plate in the fourth to make the score 19-13 in favor of the Blasters.

In the fifth the fireworks continued as the Blaster delivered six more runs to increase the cushion to 25-13.

The Wrecking Crew started a rally in the fifth as the first seven batters crossed the plate to make it 25-20. They would add one more run, but could not complete the comeback as they fell 25-21.

The Blasters were led by James Tate with five RBIs, including a grand slam home run.

Clayton Sprouse had four hits and six RBIs, while Ashley Foster and Rachael Salyer each had two hits and two RBIs. Brett Ege collected three hits, while Kristi Tate and Christina Murphy each had two hits. Kevin Salyer drove in three runs, while Josh Shotwell had two RBIs.

The Wrecking Crew was led by Joe Miller with three hits, including a double and five RBIs. Chrysta Pera had four hits, including a double, while Eric Barton had two hits, including a home run.

Aaron Nelson and Jaclyn Barton each had three hits, while Ramon Anzaldo and Pablo Anzaldo each had two RBIs.
