Hyside drama as team wins with walk-off single.
On June 18, the “Battle-of-the-Week” took place between the Hyside and the Pounders.

They would grab the lead in the bottom of the fifth and then create the drama in the bottom of the seventh after the Pounders tied it up in the top of the sixth.
A lead off triple by Alex Brandt and one out later, Ryan Barlow delivered a single to drive in the game-winning run. The final score was 12-11.
The Hyside team took the early lead in the second as they plated a pair of runs. The Pounders answered as they exploded for eight runs in the top of the third to go up 8-2.
They would send 11 batters to the plate. They collected five hits and took advantage of five errors by the Hyside team.
The Hyside team got one back in the bottom of the third to close the gap to 8-3 and scored four times in the bottom of the fourth to shave the deficit to one at 8-7.
In scoring four runs, the Hyside team Two triples and a base hit produced the four runs to cut into the Pounders lead.
The Pounders got two back as the scored twice without the benefit of a hit. Two walks, two fielder’s choices and a sacrifice fly plated the two runs to put them back into the lead 10-7.
The Hyside regained the lead in the their half of the fifth with four runs to take the 11-10 margin with two to play.
The Pounders tied the game with three consecutive singles in the top of the sixth and the game stayed that way until the seventh inning heroics by the Hyside.
The Hyside was led by R. Barlow with three hits and four RBIs. Rob Swan, Paul Armes, Brandt and Matt Barlow each had a pair of hits, while Anna Armes Meghan Wilde and Tiara Cargile each had one hit.
A. Armes, R. Barlow and Cargile each were credited with two RBIs for the Hyside team.
The Pounders were led on offense by Latisha Shuman with three hits and an RBI.
Paul Quinn and Dan Stewart each had one hit and a pair of RBIs, while Tammy Stewart and Lisa Wyly had one hit and one RBI apiece. Andy Gannick, Mary Whitfield and Corrine Embree had one hit each, while John Funk plated one run in the game.
