California Highway Patrol:

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 07-18-09 Joel Austin Donoho, 22, of Weldon was observed driving eastbound on Hwy. 155 at Ponderosa with no left side mirror, following too closely and driving on the solid double yellow lines. An enforcement stop was made and the subsequent investigation led to Donoho’s arrest for DUI.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 07-14-09 Chris Goebel, 31, of Caliente wad driving a Honda Accord westbound on Hwy. 155 approaching French Gulch Bridge. Due to Goebel’s speed, he was unable to negotiate a left curve in the roadway and the Honda drifted onto the dirt shoulder. Goebel then made an unsafe turning movement to the left, loosing control of the Honda. The Honda then crossed the eastbound lane of Hwy. 155 and collided with the mountain side. The Honda then rolled onto its side and came to rest blocking the eastbound lane. The subsequent investigation of the collision led to Goebel’s arrest for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Goebel was transported to Kern Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
