On August 1, the Adult Co-ed Softball League finished up season play with a pair of championship games.
In the Consolation Championship contest, the Hyside squad was victorious over the Pounders as they doubled up the score 10-5.

In the consolation game, the Hyside team used a strong sixth inning to collect the win.
They sent 10 batters to the plate to score seven runs. The big hit came off the bat of Dan Link as he smacked a three-run home run.
It was the second round tripper that Link had on the night as he blasted a two-run homer in the first inning to put the Hyside team up 2-1.
The lone bright spot for the Pounders came in the top of the sixth as they were able to tie the score at 3-3.
Then came the bottom of the inning and the offensive explosion from the Hyside.
The Hyside squad was led by Link with two home runs a single and five RBIs.
Robert Swan collected three hits, while Holly Moseley had a pair of hits.
Anna Armes had an RBI single, while Jennifer Conner had one hit.
The Pounders were led by John Funk with three hits.
Louis Tuey added a triple and a double in five trips, while Lisa Wyly and Paul Quinn had two hits apiece.
In the title contest, the Vipers scored three runs in the top of the ninth to take the 17-15 lead and then hold on for the win.
The two teams battled back and forth the whole night. The Blasters jumped out to a 7-2 lead after the first inning and added one run to make it 8-2 heading into the top of the third.
The Vipers sent 14 batters to the plate in the third and produced nine runs to grab the lead 11-8. They increased the margin to 16-8 with five in the fourth. The Blasters scored one run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 16-9.
They would score two each in the seventh and eighth to cut the lead to 16-13.
The Vipers pushed home an insurance run in the top of the ninth to make it 17-13.
The Blasters came to bat in the bottom of the ninth and closed the gap to within one run at 17-16.
They had the bases loaded with two outs. A fly ball out gave the Vipers the victory and the championship title for the league playoffs.
The Vipers were led by James Davis with a pair of home runs and nine RBIs. Davis connected on a grand slam and a three-run shot to go along with a pair of singles.
Chad Davidson and Bill Inch each had three hits and two RBIs, while Jacqueline Rowe, Ariana Tate and Cody Jiminez each had two hits.
The Blasters were led by Brett Ege with four hits, including two triple and a double and one RBI.
Brett Tidwell delivered three hits and three RBIs, while James Tate had three hits and two RBIs.
Ashley Foster, MaryBeth Sprouse and Christina Murphy each had two hits and an RBI, while Kristi Tate and Tommy Whitaker had one hit and one RBI.
