California Highway Patrol:

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 09-06-09, Lawrence Vaneyck, 58, of Corona, was driving a 2002 Polaris Quad northbound on Alta Sierra Dr. at an unknown rate of speed when, due to his level of alcoholic beverage intoxication, he allowed the vehicle to drift across the southbound traffic lane and into the private driveway of 1531 Alta Sierra Dr. Vaneyck failed to safely stop the vechile as it struck the cinder block retaining wall along the northeast edge of the roadway. Vaneyck was subsequently ejected from the vehicle at which time he sustained moderate to major injuries. The subsequent investigation led to Vaneyck’s arrest for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Vaneyck was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the collision which contributed to his injuries.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 09-07-09, Philip Dietrich Reese, 55, of Northridge, was stopped for speeding westbound on Hwy 178 at Delongha. The subsequent investigation led to his arrest for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 09-12-09, Robert S. Andreson, 77, of Weldon, was driving southbound on Sierra Way just north of South Fork Bridge at an unknown speed. Steven C. Burlson, 48, of Riverside, was driving northbound on Sierra Way just north of South Fork Bridge approaching Andreson at approximately 35 miles per hour. For undetermined reasons, Andreson allowed his vehicle to drift over the solid double yellow lines of the roadway and into the northbound lane of Sierra Way, directly in the path of Burleson. Burleson observed Andreson’s vehicle in the northbound lane and attemped to avoid a collision by driving toward his right shoulder and applying his brakes. Burleson was unable to avoid a collision with Andreson and the two vehicles struck head-on. Andreson sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Burleson and his passenger, Patrick M. Nugent, 59, of Sun City, sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the collision. All involved parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

Sheriff’s Department:

WARRANT ARREST: On 9-1-09, Kenneth Michael Hutchinson, 19, was arrested at Lake Isabella Blvd. and Jerry Street, Lake Isabella, on a warrant charging him with assault with a deadly weapon.

SUSPICION OF BURGLARY: On 9-1-09, Alejandro Garcia, 20, was arrested in the area of 400 block of Alpine Way, Bodfish, on suspicion of burglary and receiving stolen property.

SUSPICION OF ELDER ABUSE: On 9-3-09, Amanda Renee Nix, 34, was arrested in the 2500 block of Crestview Dr., Lake Isabella, on suspicion of elder abuse and vandalism.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSING POSSIBLE ILLEGAL DRUGS: On 9-4-2009, Neil Nathan Undo, 29, was arrested in the 800 block of Old Kern Canyon Road, Lake Isabella on possession of possible illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

WARRANT ARREST: On 9-6-2009, Melissa Bashaw, 47, was arrested on a warrant charging her with violation of court order.

WARRANT ARREST: On 9-6-2009, Heather Grupp, 34, was arrested in the area of Columbus at Verna in Bodfish on a warrant charging her with driving on a suspended license.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSING POSSIBLE ILLEGAL DRUGS: On 9-7-2009, David Jason Mitchell Jr., 19, was arrested in the area of Highway 178 at Yankee Canyon Road on possession of possible illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

SUSPICION OF BATTERY: On 9-7-2009, Mark Wesley Richards, 52, was arrested at the Auxiliary Dam Camp Ground, Lake Isabella, on suspicion of battery.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSING POSSIBLE ILLEGAL DRUGS: On 9-8-2009, Royce Clinton Ivey, 37, was arrested in the 2600 block of Bodfish Canyon in Bodfish on possession of possible illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

SUSPICION OF SPOUSAL ABUSE: On 9-8-2009, Christopher John McCullough, 35, was arrested in the 3800 block of Pepperwood Dr., South Lake on suspicion of spousal abuse.
