Stratton honored for 23 years of service
Nearly 100 valley residents turned out to wish Senior Deputy James Stratton a happy retirement on Friday night at Paradise Cove. Stratton worked for the Kern County Sheriff's Department for 23 years serving in various areas of the county. "It was easy," said Stratton, who then paused, "I take that back. Somedays were easy." Stratton plans to move out of state, raise his family, and enjoy life during retirement. Above, James Stratton and wife Valerie Stratton receive a plaque commemorating his many years of service from Sgt. Dean Marshall.
