Kernville Methodist Church to Perform ‘The Reluctant Camel’
Remember when you were a kid and the local church performed the annual Christmas program; some even called it a “pageant”? Remember how much fun it was putting on a costume, acting out a part, making props, singing in the chorus; and getting a candy cane at the end of the program?
More of this storyThe Kern Valley Freedom Festival, in Kernville Oct. 24-25, has launched a new project called “Freedom to Read.” Organizers are collecting books “to be recycled into the community” and sold at the festival for very nominal cost. Books can be dropped off at collection boxes located at The Reel Cinema in Wofford Heights, Sienna Wellness Institute in Mt. Mesa, Kern Valley Sun in Lake Isabella, and Jenny Hanley’s home at 601 Burlando Rd., Kernville. Call Jacqueline Morgan at (760) 376-3940 for pick up from any community in the Valley. Community Orchestra concert Oct. 25
The Kern Valley Community Orchestra will be presenting their Fall concert at the Kernville Elementary School on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 4:00 p.m. The selections to be performed include Hungarian Dance, Radetzky March, Tarentelle, Fascination, What A Wonderful World and more. Cemetery District seeks to fill trustee seat vacancy
The Kern River Valley Cemetery District recently announced there is a vacant trustee seat on the organization’s board. Anyone wishing to be of service to the community by acting as a trustee on the Board of Directors of the Kern River Valley Public Cemetery District can apply.
