California Highway Patrol:

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 10-31-09 James Lee Miles, of Bodfish was observed driving his Rasxal get around scooter eastbound on Bodfish Canyon Rd. east of Lake Isabella Blvd. Miles was weaving on the roadway and ran off the roadway shoulder several times. An enforcement stop was made and the subsequent investigation led to the subjects arrest for public intoxication.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 11-01-09 J. Kuhns, 71, of Wofford Heights was walking across Wofford Blvd. just south of Woodland Dr. outside of a crosswalk. Y. Amaya, 29, of Lake Isabella was driving her 2004 Chrysler Sebring southbound on Wofford Blvd. at approximately 40 MPH, within the #1 traffic lane when Amaya’s vision became momentarily obscured by the sun. While Amaya’s vision was obscured the front end of the Chrysler struck Kuhns. Kuhns sustained fatal head injuries and was pronouned deceased at the collision scene.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 11-02-09 Paul Tracy Peters, 46, of Lake Isabella was observed driving spinning the tires of his truck as he left the Kern Valley Sheriff’s Substation. An enforcement stop was made and the subsequent investigation led to the subjects arrest for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Sheriff’s Department:

SUSPICION OF TRESPASSING: 10-6-2009, Ryan Christopher Whitley (27) was arrested in the 30 block of Edison Lane, in Wofford Heights on suspicion of trespassing.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 10-25-2009, Robert John Cook (48) was arrested in the area of Commercial at Lake Isabella Blvd., in Lake Isabella on suspicion of possession of controlled substance.

WARRANT ARREST: 10-26-2009, Nicholas Carl Bencoma Jr. (42) was arrested in the 1,100 block of Kernville Road, in Kernville on a warrant charging him with trespassing and public intoxication.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 10-30-2009, James Raymond Henry (58) was arrested in the 2500 block of Pinon St., in Lake Isabella on suspicion of the following: possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, sales of narcotics, and resisting arrest.

    " im so very sorry for the loss of MR.KUNHS he was a very kind and wonderful person we all need to learn to SLOW DOWN yes it was an accident but when your driving into the sun you should be more careful he walked all over this town for years and now hes gone please say a prayer for his family.THANK YOU "
