The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Kern Valley Substation will be holding an open house on Oct. 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. We will have a variety of Sheriff’s Office resources on display such as SWAT, Sheriff’s Rescue Helicopter, Air 5, K-9, Search and Rescue, and others. We will be offering child ID and crime prevention tips.

This will also be an opportunity for the community to receive information on becoming a Citizen Service Unit volunteer or Search and Rescue volunteer. Hosted tours of the Substation will be available.

We will also have Officers from the California Highway Patrol, Rangers from the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Kern County Parks on hand to answer your questions and provide information on services they provide.

This will be an opportunity for the public to get to meet Deputies, Officers and Rangers who serve here in the Kern River Valley.

The Kern Valley Sheriff’s Activity League will provide a hot dog BBQ.
