After getting tripped up last week, the Broncs recovered to stampede past Cal City.
Taking inspiration from the Homecoming events, Kern Valley easily ran over the Ravens 55-14.

Mark Eisenhauer carried the ball 16 times for 219 yards and two touchdowns. Warren Pappas rushed for 82 yards and scored three times, while Aaron LaFarga scored once and rushed for 31 yards on eight carries to gain control of the game.
Taking on Cal City to open HDL play, the Broncs scored on their first two possessions to jump out 14-0.
Mark Eisenhauer began the scoring with a five romp into the end zone. Jordan Lawson added the extra-point and it was quickly 7-0.
On the next possession, the Broncs used three plays and Pappas scored his first TD. Two possessions later Eisenhauer rumbled 56 yards for the score. As the first quarter ended, the Broncs were ahead comfortably 21-0.
In the second quarter, Pappas crossed the goal line twice on runs of one and 33 yards and Kyler Emery hooked up with Anthony Hernandez on a 10 yard scoring strike to make it 42-7 at half time of Homecoming.
In the second half the Broncs got touchdowns from LaFarga and an interception return for a touchdown by Lawson to close out the scoring.
Emery rushed for 17 yards on six carries and completed 4-of-9 passes for 22 yards.
Hernandez’ touchdown catch for 10 yards, Robbie Fisher grabbed one pass for eight yards, while Ronnie Grannan had one catch for four yards. The other reception went to Travis Gibson for zero yards.
Other ground gainers included Dakota Claude’ with eight yards on two rushes and Gibson two carries for six yards.
The Broncs defense limited the Ravens to just 156 total yards. The allowed 31 yards of rushing and 125 yards in the air.
On defense, Kern Valley was led by Gibson with eight tackles. Tyler Parker finished with seven tackles, including a sack, while Eli Kamisher had five tackles and a fumble recovery.
Pappas was credited with five tackles, while Josh Stuart and Robbie Fisher each had four tackles.
Kevin Mixon recorded three tackles, while Dylan Maxwell had two tackles and a fumble recovery.
Lawson had the one pick and two tackles, while Eisenhauer, Claude’, Ryan Fisher, LaFarga, Emery, North Williams and Lawrence Frenes each had two tackles.
Hernandez, Grannan, Colton Hurley and Nick Medlin each had one tackle.
Head Coach Ben Goffinet said, “It was great to open up league with a victory in front of a Homecoming crowd. The guys were very focused and I was pleased with how they rebounded from last week’s loss. The next game will be a challenge, but I know the guys are ready.”
That next game the Broncs (5-1, 1-0 HDL) will play is against Desert at home on Friday. The Scorpions (0-1, HDL) are coming off a 49-28 loss to Frazier Mountain.
