It was a close race for the Lady Broncs cross country team when they competed on the road against the Desert Lady Scorpions on Oct. 29.

Although the Lady Broncs won the race a month prior on their home course by 20 points it was a closer race this time, with the final score 25-30.

“The girl’s traveled to Desert with one of their top runner’s injured. Jenna Criswell did not race because of injuries. We were also missing another of our top runners so the five girls’ that raced did a fantastic job in beating Desert.”” said head coach Hazard.

Katelyn Wallace picked up the slack for the Lady Broncs and took first place with the time of 24:56 to pace Kern Valley.

Kayla Lawhon came in second with a time of 28:36, while Ashley DiAngelo came in fourth place with a time of 31:13.

She was followed by Emily Beckstead who finished in eighth place at 38:27, while Sidney Adams came in 10th place at 38:47 to round out the Lady Broncs top scorers.

Now the team will be working at qualifying for CIF Meet in the HDL Finals.
