On Oct. 10, Jake’s Place Arena held their open jackpot in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. They opted to support Kern Valley Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL) at the same time, and SAL was “Painting the Valley Pink.” Some people bought a couple of T-shirts and showed them to the riders. Everyone was in agreement to support SAL and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Leanne with SAL delivered the rest of the T-shirts to the arena for the riders.

The jackpot started off with a moment of recognition for Breast Cancer Survivors. Two survivors, Stacey VanRensselaer’s mom, Linda Ayers, and Lisa Jones’ mom, Beverly Newman, were recognized, as was Tammy Barkley’s sister-in-law, Pam Tate, who lost her battle with this devastating disease.

Riders at Jake’s Place show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness earlier this month.

“Everyone was honored to support Breast Cancer Awareness,” said Stacey VanRensselaer. “We all look forward to supporting this again during the Oct. 24th horse show for the ‘Tough Enough to Wear Pink Spooctacular Horse Show.’ “
