Playing against the best demands the best.

In the case of Kern Valley their best was not good enough as the Lady Broncos of Bishop dominated the match winning 14-4.

The lone bright spot for the Lady Broncs came in the doubles play of Christina Brown and Haley Riise.

This doubles team earned two of the four team points as they collected set wins of 6-2 and 6-0. In their opening set, they would lose 0-6.

The other two team points for the Lady Broncs came in single splay from Chelsea Cormack and Nattikan Choorat. Cormack and Choorat each earned a set win by identical scores of 6-1. In their other sets, Cormack fell 0-6 and 2-6, while Choorat lost 0-6 and 1-6.

Kristie Edwards playing singles lost all three of her sets 1-6, 5-7 and 0-6, while the doubles team of Ashley Hampton and Charlotte Padgett lost their three sets 0-6, 6-7 (4-7 tiebreaker) and 4-6.

Filling out the squad for the Lady Broncs was the team of Linda Hernandez and Shannon Genthner. They dropped all three sets 0-6, 0-6 and 4-6.

Head Coach Brian Christianson said, “We are making some good shots, but we need to play more consistent.”

Kern Valley’s match against Mammoth scheduled for Oct. 13 was postponed due to snow. The Lady Broncs will attempt to play their match in Mammoth today.
