The Lady Broncs cross country squad traveled to Bishop to run against the lady Broncos on Oct. 13, the weather was chilly and raining but they raced anyway.

“Although the weather was unpleasant, everyone did well. With the cold and rainy conditions it made it really tough for some of our girl’s who are battling ankle and knee injuries. Jenna Criswell our number one runner was forced to pull out of the race with an injury,” Coach Don Hazard said.

Katelyn Wallace placed third to pace the Lady Broncs with the time of 23:42. Kayla Lawhon continues to improve and finished in ninth place at 27:17. Carla Morrison finished in 16th place at 29:45, Emily Beckstead finished in 27th place at 33:10 and Ashley Diangelo came in 28th place at 33:35.

Hazard said, “It was a tough loss for the girl’s team 31 to 24.”

On Friday, the Kern Valley team will travel to the Mt. SAC Invitational. This is a race where over 20,000 athletes will show up to race. “It’s the largest invitational in the world with intense competition,” said Hazard.
