Kern Valley beats Cal City in three games

Kern Valley’s jayvee volleyball team traveled to play Cal City on Oct. 22.

The lady Broncs took a loss in the first game 18-25. It was a close call in the second game with the lady Broncs battling back to win 25-22.

It was even closer in the third game with Kern Valley winning 16-14 to grab the match.

Jessie Looy had three aces, three digs, two kills, and 20 assists, Ashley Burgo had two aces, one kill, and 31 assists, Sarah Alexander had two aces, three assists, and Brandie Medley had four aces, one dig, and 13 assists.

Kailey Villa had 16 assists, one ace, and one dig, Amber Snyder had 15 assists, and one block, Jessica Yasin had one dig and 14 assists, and Anita Clark had 24 assists.

Two days prior the Lady Broncs traveled to Frazier Mountain to play a tough lady Falcons team.

Kern Valley lost both games and the match. The first game ended with final score of 25-17 and the second game the lady Broncs took lost25-9.

Coach Fernando Yates said, “The highlights of this game were Burgo and Snyder they both did well with bumping.”

Burgo had one ace, Yasin had two digs, one assist, one kill, Medley had one dig, Looy had one kill, one dig, and Villa had one kill, one block, and one dig.

Mark your calendar for Thursday as the jayvee girls will take on the Bishop lady Broncos at home. The match gets underway at 4 p.m.
