Youth Soccer season winding down

After Oct. 24, only 4 more games are left in the season. U6 wasn't deterred though, the SCE, Hyside Inflatables and Sierra South sponsored teams started with the Giant Squids and the Sharks where we saw M. Armes and C. Van Hook having a great time playing against friends M. Cunningham and B. Lowe. Then the Dolphins and Sea Stars faced off and we saw J. Henry and T. Henry, cousins cheering for H. Bowen and P. Wiseman. Their game was followed by the Sea Turtles and Sea Monsters sharing the pitch and from the Turtles G. Leu and D. Windham trotted down the field chasing J. Kinkade and A. Tehee the whole way.

The U8 team Fire Cats sponsored by North Fork Marina charged onto the field to play the M&N Auto Blue Dragons. After that, the Titans sponsored by Mt. Mesa Shell challenged the Pizza Parm Lime Lazers. The Lazers named B. Acosta as player of the week, while the Titans named A. Washington and C. South as players of the game.

U10's games began with the Green Geckos sponsored by Atchison Propane hosted by Archie's Hardware's team Shockwave. Final score was 6-1 Shockwave's. R. Driskel had a hat-trick while L. Ulright and I. Cormack and P. Johnson rounded out the scoring for Shockwave. The Geckos named K. Moore player of the week.

The Hot Tamales were pitted against the Terminators. The El Rio Terminators won 6-1. The Tamales one goal was by H. Hayes. The Terminators named E. Whitlock player of the game.T. Tito had a hat-trick.

U14 saw The Pizza Factory Caution! play the Silver Surfers sponsored by Beyond Juice. Caution won 8-2.

A. Lowe and Z. Heffner both scored for the Surfers. A. Ullom had a pair of goals for Caution.

The last game of the day on the field at Mt. Mesa was Galaxy sponsored by Run-4-A-Way hosted by the Red Devils sponsored by Isabella Supermarket. The Red Devils eeked out the win 4-3.

G. Holling and F. Franconi each had a goal for the Red Devils. Galaxy named G. Creech player of the week.
