The girl’s team traveled to Bishop for the High Desert League Finals, they finished in third place and will go to CIF on Nov. 14.

The event will take place at San Antonio College in Walnut, CA.

Katelyn Wallace finished in tenth place with the time of 27:42 and was named to the all league team, Kayla Lawhon finished in 11th place at 27:56, Carla Morrison came in 15th place at 29:47 followed by Ashley Diangelo in 16th place at 30:22.

Sidney Adams rounded out the top five for scoring and finished in 28th place with the time of 40:09, and Emily Beckstead finished in 30th place at 41:26.

The final outcome in the league standings are as follows: Rosamond placing first, Bishop took second, Kern Valley third, Desert fourth, Cal City took fifth, and Frazier Mountain placed sixth.

The Lady Broncs used their race at Hart Park a few days prior as a warm up, getting ready for the finals and they did well considering they competed with over 800 athletes.

Kayla Lawhon ran in the varsity race and came in 99th place at 23:34, setting a personal record.

“Her hard work in practice is paying off,” said Head Coach Don Hazard.

In the frosh/soph race, Katelyn Wallace ran a great race and finished in second place, Emily Beckstead finished in 89th place.

“All of the girl’s in this race got lost and ran less than two miles so the times are off,” said Hazard.
