The Salvation Army again this year will be providing a complete Holiday Dinner with all the trimmings, for up to 450 needy families and individuals in the Kern River Valley.  We are pleased to have The Kern River Valley Pastors Association, and the churches joining our team of volunteers this year to help make this wonderful holiday event possible.

There is a greater need now for assistance in our community. The current financial situation in our country has had its negative effect right here.  Lost jobs, and homes have placed many in a budget defecit situation without  the means to have any holiday celebration. Many are struggling to put enough food on the table to feed there families. Our Emergency Food Pantry, Feed My People program, and Soup Kitchen have been serving far more people than in past years. The Angel Food Ministries Food Program is begining to help many in these situations.

The Holiday Dinner is one way to make Thanksgiving and Christmas a happier time for all teses families. Each one of us can help. All it takes is a community team working together.  Volunteers sharing in the work will make this a success.

Can you make a monetary contribution of $10, $25, $50, or maybe $100.  Wow, this would help immensely.

Maybe you would donate a turkey, cooked pie, dressing mix, canned yams, olives, cranberry sauce, rolls, coffee, creamer, punch, cool whip, drink cups 5 to 6 oz or more. You may also volunteer at the Senior Center, Saturday, Nov. 21, and assist with food preparation, serving and clean up. This is a community team effort. Volunteer today. Call 760-379-5100

If you are low income, lost your job, or struggling to get by, you may eligible to attend. Drop in to The Community Christian Center at 6105 Lake Isabella Blvd. to sign up and receive your admission ticket.
