Light up a Life is Hoffmann Hospice’s annual remembrance ceremony, where we gather to remember and honor loved ones with the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree. Guests may place a symbolic light on the tree in memory of a friend or a loved one who has passed away. For those who wish to honor someone still living, there are lights for them, too.
As each guest holds a lighted candle, the names of those so honored are read aloud.
Guests are asked to make a $10 donation for each individual recognized with a light. Those who donate $100 towards one individual will be recognized as Starlight Sponsors and receive a commemorative ornament.
We had 80 people attend last year’s Light up a Life (our first in the Kern Valley) and are expecting a greater response this year. This year’s Light up a Life will be 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, Big Blue Bear and Circle Park, 101 Piute Dr.
