Don Hazard returns as the jayvee Head Coach for the Lady Broncs basketball team.

Kern Valley only has two returners this year in Makayla Harris and Ashley Hampton.

Other members of the jayvee team are Dolly Anzaldo, Tori Barnum, Leah Bishop, Amber Snyder, Savannah Duvall and Dorothy Thoman.

“We plan on having a lot of fun this year while we learn how to play basketball at a higher level,” said Hazard.

The Kern Valley jayvee girls team has won the High Desert League Championship the last four years running.

This year’s team will do their best to win another one and keep the streak alive.

With this lofty goal, it should be a sizzling season on the court for the lady Broncs.

Hazard added, “On Tuesday (Nov. 24) at the scrimmage against Lone Pine, the Lady Broncs played hard and did some things well. We also need to work on a number of things to become a better team. I was pleased with their effort and hustle.”

Hazard went on to say, “I’m looking forward to a fun season and see a lot of upside potential with the athletes on the team.”
