Infant death in Wofford Heights investigated

On Jan. 30, at about 9:50 p.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Roby Lane in Wofford Heights regarding a nine-week-old infant that was not breathing. Deputies arrived, located the infant, and performed CPR on the baby until medical personnel arrived. The infant was transported to Kern Valley Hospital where it was pronounced dead.

Homicide Detectives were called out and are investigating the death. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, Feb. 1. According to the coroner’s office, a cause of death is still pending.
